Having stepped in a new century and a new era of time each waking moment, we find our self amidst of a huge range of ailments that a sizeable portion of the population suffers. There was a time when such ailments were not given much importance or even known as an ailment.

Huntington’s disease is a genetic disorder that affects a person’s brain. This disease is untreatable and fatal due to cell damage of the nerves in the brain. The damage is usually severe and causes the nerves to dysfunction. In most cases of Huntington’s disease, the onset of the disease happens when the patient is in their thirties or forties.

Ulcerative colitis is a condition characterized by inflammation of the colon or the large intestine. This inflammation usually begins in the rectum, which is located towards the end of the large intestine, ending in the anus. It then spreads in the colon and causes multiple problems such as painful bowel movements, stomach ache, and severe diarrhea.

Psoriasis is an autoimmune skin disorder, which is marked by red, flaky, and thickened patches of skin on a person’s body. In several cases, these symptoms occur on the scalp, a condition referred to as scalp psoriasis. This usually causes dry, scaly, red patches of skin on your scalp, and causes it to be covered in silvery scales.

Ulcerative Colitis is a chronic, long-term, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that causes inflammation and ulcers (sores) in the lining of the large intestine (Colon). Only the lower section of the colon, i.e., sigmoid colon and the rectum are affected. But it can cause damage to the entire colon. Rectal bleeding, cramping and abdominal pain and diarrhea are the primary symptoms of Ulcerative Colitis which usually develop over time and can range from mild to severe.

A low platelet, also known as Thrombocytopenia is a hematologic disorder in which the platelet count in the blood lowers than the normal, causing more risk of bleeding. Platelets are colourless blood cells that repair tissue damage and help in blood coagulation, which prevents bleeding. A normal platelet count is around 150,000 to 450,000 platelets per microliter of circulating blood and below 150,000 platelets is considered to be low.
